Studies reveal:

Violent loss can result in chronic trauma symptoms.

Co-victims of violent loss are known to be at greater risk for suicidal ideation, homicide, and drug or alcohol abuse.

Violent loss may result in disconnections within the family, self-medication with drugs and alcohol, and increased aggression.

Violent loss often exposes family and friends to unwanted intrusions from media, law enforcement and their community.
